January is the time of year when we ponder what we would like to do again in the coming year and what we would like to introduce into our lives.
For fun and authentic personal growth, a creative approach would be to organize your visioning into segments: Include those aspects of yourself that you may have neglected over the past year like intuition, spirit, and adventure.
Assign a word to your ’25 ahead. When you revisit that word throughout the year and especially at the end of it, it will likely elicit a jolly good belly laugh on yourself. I’ve learned a thing or two about this since I started the practice more than 12 years ago. In ’24 my word was spirited. That became a laughable understatement by year’s end.
Awakening is my word for ’25. Crazily, I say live dangerously.
Jump Start with a Vision Board
The first step is reflecting on what were your last year’s successes. What did you leave incomplete and needs to be re-intentioned for this year?
Following a quiet meditation and/or prayer, flip through images selecting those that click intuitively with what you want to attract towards you in the coming year. Once you have a sizable stack, paste them on your board and fix your dream collage to a wall that you gaze upon often. You are constellating the power of the unseen world to aid in manifesting your dreams. Magic power.
In esoteric teaching, one of the primary tenets is “as above so below”, and “like attracts like”. By energetically projecting certain images out into the world, those images in the manifested world find their way to you. Seeing is believing, and believing is manifesting.
Power of Action
Authentic spirituality is expressed through action. Our actions bring the light. Meditation and prayers are cleansing, daily practices I couldn’t recommend more highly, but it’s the power of action that magically and powerfully honours your soul’s expression. It begins with what you are visioning, but the true path to enlightenment is inherent in what you do.
Ask yourself, “Does this forward my soul’s purpose?” If not, why are you doing it? If you don’t know what your soul’s purpose is, do a visioning board with an intention to express your soul and the sacred in your life. That’s a wonder-filled place to start.
Your 2025 Tarot Card
For those of you who are familiar with the Tarot, remember to determine your coming year tarot card by adding your birthday (day and month) to 2025 and studying the corresponding Major Arcana card. For me this was adding 11 (for November) to 21 (for birth day) to 2025 = 2057 and then adding 2 + 5 + 7. 2025 will be a Temperance year for me. Last time my year card was Temperance was in 2016.
The Temperance card represents the process of changing something into something else through patient application of talent and skill. It is the power card of creativity and manifestation. In the shadows, Temperance will teach me lessons related to disharmony, imbalance, wasted and scattered energy, frustration and faulty judgment. Fabulous combo with my awakening word. I didn’t know these two would sit together in 2025 until I determined my Tarot card.
I wish you a ’25 rich in spirit, love and fulfillment in every aspect of your life. Make this coming year be one to remember with gratitude and the fondest of memories.
